In July-August 2018 PTI conducted the 2018 State of City and County Information Technology (IT) national survey. The intent of the survey is to provide an insightful look at the technology issues and priorities of local government IT. This is the eighth year that PTI has conducted this survey.
One of the questions asked: Which emerging IT areas will have the most impact on local governments in the next 3-5 years? To find out how local government IT executives responded, download the PTI infographic.
The survey looks at IT operations, budgeting, work programs and initiatives. The survey was sent to I.T. executives in cities and counties across the U.S., representing populations that are large, medium and small in size.
As local governments consider the deployment of these community-wide technologies, PTI advocates that the IT department must be part of the discussion when it comes to planning and implementation.
This fall PTI will release an infographic highlighting various aspects of the survey results, along with recommendations for local officials to consider as they explore these topics.
