Every year, PTI member local governments are invited to apply for designation as a PTI Tech Savvy local government. Jurisdictions that are designated as Tech Savvy have met or exceeded a set of nine criterion identified by PTI where technology is used to address issues and current challenges, and to identify future opportunities across the enterprise.
Designation as a Tech Savvy city or county recognizes local governments that have demonstrated that they have a commitment to technology as an enabler, and that their organizations have a spirit of teamwork and collaboration, creativity, and leadership that result in a culture of technology excellence.
For 2018, PTI is pleased to designate Alexandria, Virginia and Montgomery County, Maryland as Tech Savvy.
"I commend Alexandria and Montgomery County for their vision, leadership and commitment to the use of technology to enhance service delivery," said Alan Shark, Executive Director of PTI, when announcing the designations. The Public Technology Institute is a national, non-profit organization technology research and leadership organization created by and for cities and counties.
