In July-August 2018 PTI conducted the State of City and County Information Technology (IT) national survey. Fifty percent of respondents say they have no role, but they should. To find out more, download the PTI infographic.

For those IT departments that do have a role in their jurisdiction's smart strategy, 78% stated that that role includes a roadmap that communicates the IT vision for a smart city/county.

The intent of the survey is to provide an insightful look at the technology issues and priorities of local government IT. This is the eighth year that PTI has conducted this survey. This fall PTI is releasing an infographic highlighting various aspects of the survey results, along with recommendations for local officials to consider as they explore these topics.
