Launched the certification program: Certified Government Digital Services Professional. Presented in partnership with the National Association of Government Web Professionals and Rutgers University Center for Government Services, this new program offers practical and leadership-oriented professional development in the fast-evolving field of delivering digital services through new methods and platforms.
In partnership with Rutgers University Center for Government Services, PTI's Certified Government CIO program is now in its seventh year. For 2017-2018 we have an east coast class and a west coast class with a total of thirty-three students.
Released a series of Quick Polls – brief surveys on timely topics throughout the year. Topics included GIS Within the Local Government Enterprise, How Secure is Your Local Government: 2017, Social Media Usage within Local Government, Tech Outs and Ins for 2017.
To promote cybersecurity awareness and to provide resources to city and county managers and elected officials, PTI worked with the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and the National Association of Counties (NACo) to disseminate a series of checklists and articles to local government officials.
Recognized a number of local governments for their technology efforts through PTI's Solutions Awards, Tech Savvy, and Citizen-Engaged Communities Designation programs.
Conducted two IT technology assessments as part of PTI's Technology Assessment and Support Services program.
As part of a new relationship with the NACo to promote technology leadership for county elected officials, PTI helped to facilitate the NACo CIO Forum and Tech Town Hall at the NACo Legislative Conference and at the NACo Annual Conference.
Released the book The Digital Journey in K-12 Education.
