Local governments face many similar problems. Why reinvent the wheel each time you establish a new program or explore new uses of technology? It makes sense to tap into the experience and hindsight of local government peers by utilizing PTI’s Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) assessment program.
Why a Peer Approach?
Your colleagues are the best source of unbiased information on what works. Not only have they faced similar problems, but they are aware of budget, timing, organizational and political implications of decisions.

SWOT Teams
PTI’s SWOT teams consist of experienced subject matter professionals from within local government, and consultants from PTI’s pool of technology industry partners. These executives share their insight and expertise and work with you to solve the issue you are trying to address.
Three different levels of SWOT engagements are available. Each can have added features on a case-by-case basis.
Level 1: Interactive Guidance
PTI identifies a subject matter expert/peer to spend a day or more in your jurisdiction speaking with key stakeholder groups. PTI will work with this expert to develop a brief overview of the engagement, including any interviews conducted and preliminary findings.
Level 1 engagements are perfect for agencies that are just beginning to address an issue or problem and need initial guidance. Member cost: $5,000. Non-member cost: $7,500.
Level 2: In-Depth Guidance
PTI will bring a team of subject matter experts/peers who will spend one or more days in your jurisdiction, visiting the key stakeholders you identify, conducting interviews, examining your issue and composing an action plan.
Level 2 engagements involve a number of team members, and are designed for more in-depth problem-solving and fact-finding. Member cost: $12,500. Non-member cost: $17,500.
Level 3: Detailed, Comprehensive Guidance
Level 3 engagements allow for a two to three day visit by multiple subject matter experts/peers.
After compiling their final report, the team of experts will return to your jurisdiction to present their findings and recommendations. Member cost: $25,000. Non-member cost: $35,000.
