IBM Global Director of Regional and Local Government Joins PTI Board

Curtis Clark, Global Director of Regional and Local Government Services for IBM has been appointed to serve a two-year term on the Public Technology Institute (PTI) Board of Directors. PTI is the non-profit technology research, education and consulting organization for local governments.

Mr. Clark was appointed to serve as the PTI Corporate Partner and Technology Industry representative to the Board. The Board of Directors sets the research agenda for PTI.

Announcing the appointment, Brian O’Neill, PTI Board Chair and a Philadelphia City Council member, cited the importance of having the position of the technology industry represented on the board.

“As PTI continues to continue to promote the tremendous impact that technology can bring to bear on government service delivery, it is important that we work with the technology industry to share their solutions and innovations with government, and for industry to listen and respond to the needs of government.”

The eight-member board includes four local government representatives selected from the PTI membership and one representative from PTI’s Corporate Partner program. In addition, the International City/County Management Association, the National League of Cities and the National Association of Counties each appoint one representative of their respective membership to serve on the PTI Board of Directors.

On the PTI Board, Mr. Clark joins Councilmember Brian O’Neill of Philadelphia (Chair); Michael Armstrong, MIS Director, City of Corpus Christi, TX; Mark Johnson, Executive Director, North Dakota Association of Counties (NACo representative); Brian Moura, Assistant City Manager, City of San Carlos, CA; Christopher Brady, City Manager, City of Mesa, AZ; and Gail Roper, CIO of the City of Raleigh, NC.

As IBM’s Global Director for Regional and Local Government, Mr. Clark works directly with public officials throughout the world, focusing on emerging trends and directions in the public sector and developing strategies that government leaders can implement to drive innovation throughout their organizations.

He is also responsible for IBM’s Institute for Electronic Government in Washington D.C. The Institute, in conjunction with the IBM Center for the Business of Government, serves as IBM’s global focal point for thought leadership - sharing research, experience and best practices with public sector clients, and focused on public policy issues, organizational and management practices, and technologies that can enable transformation in the public sector.

Before joining IBM, Mr. Clark held various positions with the State of North Carolina for over 17 years. Mr. Clark earned a B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1977, completed course work in accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.
