Call for Authors

The Public Technology Institute (PTI) in cooperation with the National Association for State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) will publish the book CIO Leadership for States: Emerging Trends and Practices that will showcase the contemporary aspects of state CIO leadership.

We are now seeking experts in the 13 fields we have identified. We define experts liberally, as those with a track record studying or engaged in all aspects of state CIO leadership.

Candidate authors would include practitioners (current and retired), educators and corporate-level practitioners, as well as policymakers and researchers involved in this area.

New update and CIO publishing opportunities

I’m pleased to report on a few key developments regarding our book CIO Leadership for Cities & Counties – Emerging Trends and Practices.

First, our book is now available in a hardcover edition! The hardcover looks great and is selling for $38.00 a copy.

Second, we now have three universities who have committed to using the book as a text.

Welcome

Organizing and publishing a book is like giving birth – except there are no premature babies or premature publications for that matter! CIO Leadership for Cities & Counties took over two years to bring to birth and now there is talk of other siblings!

Now that the book is a reality, I must admit I was truly surprised by the outpouring of such positive reactions from around the globe. It appears the book in both substance and timing has hit a critical and collective nerve.
